Handel completed this concerto for Oboe, orchestra and basso continuo in 1740. This particular work includes several references to themes in the Chandos Anthems, a collection of sacred choral anthems Handel completed in 1718.

This concerto is comprised of four movements:
I. Vivace
II. Allegro (a fugue)
III. Andante
IV. Allegro
