Steven Lorenzo pled guilty in December of 2022 to the murder of Michael Waccholtz and Jason Galehouse back in 2003. Despite the fact he entered a plea, Lorenzo pleaded with the Trial Court that he wanted to receive the Death Penalty.

The Penalty Phase ended in February 2023 with Lorenzo being sentenced to death. In the prelude to his penalty hearing, Lorenzo hand wrote a 147 page motion where he admits to the murders (under his own theory) and also lays out many objections to what the State and Court will do at his Mitigation Phase.
