The Battle of Hamburg in 1943 was one of the most horrific war crimes to take place. During this attack, the RAF and USAAF killed 42,600 civilians and wounded 37,000 while virtually demolishing a city.
During the Battle of Hamburg, the Americans and British purposefully bombed railways and civilian businesses during the day and residential homes at night.
This would become known as Germany's Hiroshima. 1 million refugees were forced to leave the demolished city. The allies hoped this act would break the German spirit, but this act had the opposite effect and turned many more to the Fuhrer's struggle in fighting Judea.
