In an 1938 they wrote an article entitled "America Gets Ready To Fight Germany, Italy and Japan".

Doesn't sound very defensive and isolationist does it?

In it they reveal their military build up has nothing to do with "protecting democracy", exposing one of the falsehoods perpetuated in and after World War 2, that America was making the world safe for democracy. It was making it safe for American corporate interests.
