The Plan of Salvation

First we need to realize that man is sinful, Romans 3:23 tells us “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Second we have to see that sin has a penalty, Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Third we have to see that Christ paid the penalty, Romans 5:8 says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Fourth we have to understand that salvation is a free gift, Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Fifth we have to see that Christ is at the door, Revelation 3:20 says “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

And sixth we must receive him, John 1:12 says “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
