Happy Chinese (快乐汉语) Ep 004 - "Breakfast" (早点)

Susan finally gets up "early" (早), but finds that Father Li and Xiaowei have gotten up earlier than her. In the morning market, Susan finds a lot of signs that say "breakfast" (早点) and she asks to keep one of them. Father Li sees the "breakfast" sign on the back of Susan's bicycle, and thinks that Susan is going to work and study to open a breakfast shop. He and Mother Li prepare for Susan a large table of Chinese and Western breakfast foods, and they plan to give her some ideas.

苏珊好不容易起了个大早，却发现李父和小伟居然比她起得还早。在早市上，苏珊发现了好多写着“早点”的牌子，于是要了一个。李父看到苏珊自行车后面的“早点”牌，以为苏珊打算勤工俭学开早点铺，他和李母为苏珊准备了一大桌丰盛的中西式早点，打算给她出点主意。本集介绍了关于日期的表示方法，名词谓语句等相关汉语知识。 （快乐汉语 2009年 第4期）

"Happy Chinese" was a series broadcast by the Chinese International Channel CCTV-4 starting August 3, 2009, to promote Chinese language and Chinese culture. Before May 2010, the first phase of "Happy Chinese" mainly taught everyday language in family and school life. Starting on May 31, 2010, the second phase of the show mainly taught practical Chinese for traveling in China.
