Mantras and the OM Meditation

As with probably many people, I have been interested in the topic of mantras in meditation and more specifically, with the use of the OM mantra as a meditation. In the book ‘The Way to Live’, by ‘Billy’ Meier, pages 284-286, he goes into detailed explanations about the benefits of mantras, however, only a few points will be mentioned here.
