A band of adventurers decide to travel to Earth's moon-er, wait, didn't I already see this one? Yep, there were two of them...
Early director Segundo De Chomon, having seen and appreciated George Melies 'A Trip to the Moon'(1902) decided to try his hand at the same theme-not uncommon in the age before Intellectual Property Law had been codified. Indeed, Chomon paid homage to many of Melies' classic scenes, though there are differences in the plot, more acrobatics, more reliable Pathe coloration, at least one dance number and the fastest whirlwind romance I have ever laid eyes on (less than 20 seconds from 'meet cute' to 'run away together'? Really?). Also, the feature itself is tighter and more compact than Melies' production, clocking in at just under 7 minutes...Silent, Tinted.
