Introducing Theta Edgecast: The world’s first decentralized streaming DApp for end-to-end live streaming, transcoding, caching and video delivery
This is a tutorial produced by Zetetic.News for THETAs Edgecast software. In this video I walk you through the process of setting up a THETA wallet so you can take full advantage of your own edge node and begin streaming/watching all while earning $Tfuel by participating in the network growth. In my case, I our case we set up a 24/7 Restream of The Alex Jones show because Alex has been the prototype for the personality censorship in the western tech sphere.
Due to our news curation and podcasting, we have recently been temporarily banned from YouTube. Like many content creators, we have had to seek alternatives to the big tech platforms who are using their monopoly power to censor politically disadvantageous views. On the zetetic.news cast we have speculated that THETA Labs may be developing a new technology that can disrupt the traditional Content Delivery Networks in a way that forces Big Tech to embrace democratization of video distribution and monetization.
Zetetic.news is an early adopter of the THETA ecosystem, one of the first news-aggregators to stream "24/7" on the THETA backbone. With the latest Edgecast update, this is much improved with a GUI that allows you to navigate the p2p streams occurring on the network, and also enables a $Tfuel donation mechanism to be used in-client.
It is a very cool update to their edge node software which previously only allowed you to share bandwidth for the purposes of serving video packets to peers.
