An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 was registered near the coast of the state of Chiapas, in southern Mexico, according to information from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The Chiapas Civil Protection Secretariat reported that it monitored the regions of that state and no material damage or victims were reported.
The depth of the earthquake off the coast of El Palmarcito was 35 km, according to the USGS.
