Star Trek has always been a source for social commentary. The fact that the series took steps in inclusion and diversity as far back as the 1960s by having a woman of color as well as a character from Russia on the bridge was groundbreaking. Now, we've fallen to the point of only showcasing one affiliation with zero information about anything. If they really wanted diversity, have one of the people George Takei or Marina Sirtis tweet against on the bridge now as a modern day Checkov.
