Install & Configure Zeroshell as a router (In VirtualBox)

Installing and Configuring Zeroshell in Virtual Box

Create Linux 64bit Virtual Machine called Router (Linux 2.6 x64)

Configure virtual machine (Router)
• Set Optical Drive to the zeroshell ISO
• Set Boot Order to boot from Optical Drive
• Set Network Interface 1 to NAT
• Set Network Interface 2 to Internal (Switch 1)

Install Zeroshell (Router 1)
• Boot up and wait about 15 seconds for the main Zeroshell screen to appear
• Select 'A' to install Zeroshell
• Press ‘1’ to select ATA VBOX HARDDISK… and type ‘yes’ to when prompted to continue
• Press the Enter key to select [VGA] for Bootstrap Console
• Press the Enter key to select [quiet] for Kernel Parameters
• Press the Enter key to select [yes] for creating a profile
• Type ’router’ and press the Enter key for the Profile Description
• Type ‘router.hogwarts.local’ for Hostname
• Press the Enter key to accept ‘zeroshell’ as the password
• Type ‘dc=hogwarts,dc=local’ for the LDAP Base
• Type ‘hogwarts.local’ for Kerberos 5 REALM
• Type ‘2’ to select ETH01 as the Management Interface, then press the Enter key
• Type ‘192.168.69.1’ to assign the IP address
• Press the Enter key to accept 255.255.255.0 as the Netmask
• Press the Enter key to leave the Gateway blank
• Press any key to return to the command prompt
• Press ‘R’ to reboot Zeroshell, so it boots into the newly created profile
• Once back on the main screen, press ’I’ to get to the IP Manager
• Press ‘H’ for Dynamic IP Configuration
• Press the Enter key to accept ETH00
• Type ‘enabled’ for DHCP Client

Configure Zeroshell for NAT via web interface

Login to Router via web interface
• Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.69.1
• You will probably need to add the address to your Trusted Zone
• Login to Zeroshell:
• Username = admin
• Password = zeroshell
• On the left side menu, under Network, select Router
• On the top menu select NAT
• Select ETH00 and click the arrows to move it to the NAT Enabled box.
• Click Save
