Jaida- A Message to you from Right 2 Liberty Beaver County

Jaida is a young lady who is a student at Avonworth School district, and this is a message to Jaida in support of her battle with the School Board.

HERE IS JAIDA'S STORY...
"This year the school  banned me from in person learning because I can't wear a mask.  They won’t accept my doctors’ notes.    When my parents spoke out, the school tried to remove me from the District.  What really hurts is the District has all kinds of after-school sporting events in the gyms and some that are during school hours and tons of kids don't wear mask even though the policy says they have to.  We have pictures proving this. The picture of me was taken at a wrestling tournament held at the school on 1/30/22, where no one was forced to wear a mask.  So I can go to the school without a mask to cheer for an athlete in a gym but I can't go to school to learn in my classroom.  

I am sad because I like school and always got good grades.  I miss being with my friends. I struggle with on line cyber school.  We asked for a tutor to help me but they haven't given me one.  My principal has never even checked on me and my Superintendent who is supposed to care doesn't. When my dad took me to a board meeting they didn't even say hi and then said next time he shouldn't bring me.

This is my last year of elementary school and now it's almost over. It's not my fault I have asthma and I shouldn't be punished. What I am asking is for all of you to spread this petition across the state and demand Avonworth apologize for discriminating against me and let me back in school to be with my friends.   It's hard to stand up but I am not scared and in the end I know I have to stand up for me and all other kids like me. ~ Jaida "
