3. Sell viewers on your personality
4. Make the cover sound like your own music (as a top of funnel grab in)
5. Leave room to inject yourself
6. Don’t try to sound like the original (give us a reason to listen to your version instead of it along with the original
7. Make sure you get covers cleared legally
8. Give covers the same treatment as originals
