DURATION: 17m21s -- There exist some problems in the world for which the solutions are seemingly intractable. Back in the days when I was a student in Montreal, the issues du jour -- the human demons who could not be exorcised from the global body politic -- were Saddam and Slobo, the two strong men of the Cold War. Everything else in the world had a solution -- every other potentate and dictator -- save for these two. They could somehow *not* be deposed...no matter how hard the world would try...

There are similar issues in the here and now...

For instance, I'm beginning to think several of the items we've been bandying about here on the vlogosphere -- in respect of our one and only Canada -- are in that very category...problems for which there seem to be no available solutions, problems which our precious nation North of 49 can't seem to do a damned thing about.

But oh...solutions there are, my babies...but are we tough enough to stick to them and do we have the courage to implement them..?
