Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.
The comfortable part of us, is what is currently driving our species to the brink of extinction, it is the part of us that is locked into conceptual thinking - the prison of the conceptual mind as Eckhart Tolle describes it.
We disturb this part of us by the (harsh) realization that it has a will-to-death, that it is infact "dead" because it is in-organic and artificial. It is a social construct.
The comfort for that part of us (our mind) is that in simply seeing this there is liberation and salvation.
