Joyeuse marche by Emmanuel Chabrier

French composer Emmanuel Chabrier completed a march for piano four hands in 1885 titled ‘Prélude et marche française’. Due to the success of the work he decided to orchestra the compositon and gave it the title “Joyeuse marche” (Joyful March). The orchestration was completed in 1888 and the premiere performance of the march was given in November of 1888 in Angers.

The work is comprised of a single movement.
