dont trust McAfee & Norton. Clean 'em out. There are removal tools for remenants (they leave parts of themselves in system, hard to remove)
dont have lots of extensions on browser on trusted comp. U're 1 keylogger/backdoor away from massive losses. 1 of those extns might inject bait on legit website: u click it, enter keys, & ur $ is gone. If keys supectd compromised, IMMEDTLY move all crypto.
Find alt to Nicehash. If u use NH, keep isolated from trusted devices. It maybe a high-tech criminal on ur network.
Beware Exodus. There is no 2FA. Use in conjunction w/a USB key, or dont unless u have a way to secure it (such as on an isolated Linux USB, firewall active), & even then, it might not be 100% secure. Trust no one. Can Exodus be trusted w/fortune in ur crypto? Beware ur "friends" esp if u're young & have lots of "friends". They might swipe USBs or take ur keys if not secured. I've had friends who suddenly steal. Exodus might be ok for small amounts. But, it is a hybrid wallet. Any1 w/keys can get ur crypto.
Mine to mining compatble wallet. dont keep large amounts u dont want lost on exchanges. If u had big loss on an exchange, such as coinbase, immediately transfer what is left to a trusted wallet. After u've gotten everything out, then report the theft. If u dont do this, u'll be locked out for months, like I was.
If u keep large amounts on phone wallet (metamask voyager trust). Keep phone clean (be paranoid). Uninstall all social media: no zoom, telegram, instagram whatsapp twitter skype NOTHING. Secure evrythg w/2fa. Ensure wallet requires 2fa to login (not email 2fa, but w/text). Iphone w/high security locks might be good. Have 10 incorrect pin phone wipe. Have keys written in safe place (u lose the phone, u can access wallets).

Create live linux USB w/Rufus. U dont need hard drive to run live or permanent Linux USB, just the BIOS.

Install permanent USB using install prog. Faster read write speed & higher quality USB, better. DONT mistkenly erase main hard drive w/it.
