Bystander by Dark Lord Elliott

Bystander is a song I teased a very long time ago, in my video about building and installing a Car Port into a USB PD device. I always meant to get it mastered and released, but for one reason or another, that just never happened... until now. This is going to be the first song on my Biggest Project to date, and I'm really excited to see that happen in 2024.

Bystander was born of a technical concept that I thought up: what if one could write a song comprised of only three notes? Of course, Bystander did divert from that a bit, but the core concept is still very much there.

I'm honestly surprised I forgot to upload this. Meltdown is the direct sequel to the Vendetta EP (Foxhole, Darkest Moment, Never..., and All the Time in the World). I wanted this to be the first song, or at least one of them, to go into the sequel to Vendetta, which would have been "Radiation", but that just simply never happened. Bring it On by Dark Lord Elliott (Lyrics)

Bring it On is the direct sequel to the Vendetta EP. Originally, I had intended to make a Radiation EP, and Bring it On was the first song of that. Unfortunately, that never happened; so here it is. This version is actually pretty much untouched, from the original song. According to the voice files I recorded, they date to Feb. 11, 2018, which makes this song five years old, at the youngest.

The only part that's actually altered in the second part of the final voice line. Originally, I wanted to have a completion, but I didn't want to record a "modern" line over this old song; so I decided on repeating the previous line, since its just so powerful.

In retrospect, this song is pretty confusing about the message I wanted to send. I should have done better with pronouns (not the cringey ones). They/them for the enemies, you/your for the people I'm trying to talk to. Still, it could have been worse: I could have ended up with a Weezer song, where I have no clue what the hell I'm going on about at all.

That said, Matrix was a song I started, and actually more-or-less finished around six years ago. I always meant to actually finalize Matrix, but for one reason or another, that just never happened. Fantasia is one of, if not the oldest song I ever wrote that still stands up to what I call "good". It's by no means a masterpiece, but it is a good song, for having been written in around 2013. The name "Fantasia", came about because that's the name of the primary soundfont I used to compose this.
