Many folks have asked for a follower that adds capacity to the factory magazines for the Mosquito and FireFly 22LR pistols that lock the slide open on last shot fired. Up until now all that was available was our Shockbottle follower that does add 4 extra rounds, but did not lock the slide on an empty mag. That has all changed now. The NicTaylor follower for the Sig Sauer Mosquito and the its clone the German Sport Gunworks FireFly will now lock the slide open on last shot fired. Like many of the other followers from Taylor Tactical Supply, this follower locks the slide back by engaging the bolt face of the slide like an AR15 22 conversion magazine. It is recommended for the best performance to turn the magazine spring backwards in the mag tube to give the rear of the follower that extra kick to engage the slide. If you do not turn the spring backwards, the slide may not lock open.

This is a magazine kit for the Smith & Wesson M&P22 Compact pistol that allows you to get more rounds in the factory magazine. This kit is not permanent and can be installed in a matter of minutes. You can easily convert your magazine back to it's factory configuration if you ever have the need or you move to a location like California that does not allow these parts.

The kit is comprised of an aluminum basepad, magazine spring, Hi-Viz NicTaylor follower and a hex wrench for attaching the basepad to the magazine tube. Once you disassemble your factory magazine you will only use the magazine tube. Install the follower, compress the included magazine spring and slide on the basepad. Take the included hex wrench and finger tighten the set screw on the bottom of the basepad. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

After burning over 1000 rounds of 22 ammo in my new Taurus TX22, I've come to the realization that my point of impact is about six inches high at 25 yards. So I went to the Dawson Precision website and entered the spec of my TX-22 on the "Sight Match" link and the calculator spit out the suggested front sight height for my deviation. I ordered one of the Glock front sights for my TX22 since the mounting method use in both the Glock and TX22 are very similar. Turns out the Glock front sight can be installed on your TX22 with just a few modifications to the sight itself. Please keep in mind that modifying a part like this voids the possibility of returning it. So if you lost your front sight or you are not hitting at your point of aim, consider installing a Glock front sight from your favorite retailer.

At the time of this video I've been using the Walkers Electronic Earbuds for almost two years. I mainly use them for USPSA and IPSC pistol shooting competitions and Dove Hunting. I've found these little gems at a price point anyone should be able to afford when you compare the cost of hearing loss.

In the Texas heat where I reside, wearing ear muffs either passive or electronic are not an option for me due to the heat these muff conceal. This is where either straight up cheap foam ear plugs come into play or better yet, electronic noise cancelling earbuds such as these. You can spend anywhere from $100 to thousands of dollars on electronic ear protection. In the end I found these a nice price for the function.

Here is an honest Review of the slidefire bump stock soon to be banned. This video has already been banned on YouTube for violating its community guidelines. After an inquiry to YouTube with no response on why this video was removed from youtube, I have come to the conclusion that the must think the video is inciting violence. Why are Hollywood movies glorifying illegal machine guns and killing people OK on Youtube but an instructional video is not?

DEZ Arms (AR15 Barrels) http://www.shop.dezarms.com

Here is a little "B ROLL" footage of my son who is 7 years old at the time shooting my 3-gun rifle at 400 yards using Wold Steel Cased Ammo with the Primary Arms 1-6x Scope with ACSS Reticle. If you are looking for a scope for your AR Type rifle, you need to take a serious look at this scope and it's ease of shooting at distance.

I have been testing this scope for a few years now. Here is a post from December 2013 showing a picture of the steel target I show in the beginning of the video: http://nictaylor00.blogspot.com/2013/12/zeroing-my-new-scope-for-3-gun.html

It was over three years ago when I was first contacted by Dimitri at Primary Arms. He had a new reticle and was wanting some feedback on it. I was told this reticle was mainly designed for combat situations and being a civilian in the competition arena, I was a bit unsure if it would fit my needs so I passed on buying one of the scopes and Dimitri never offered to send me one for free.

Later I ended up getting one after getting frustrated with Mil-Dot scopes. I must have bought one of the 1st production runs since it had to be sent back due to a loose eyebell. The second one took many months to receive and was clearly a different production since there was obvious cosmetic changes from the first. This second scope would not hold zero for me so I sent it back too. The third scope is the one seen in this video and so far has worked well. However, from my testing it appears that over 400 yards the ranging reticle does not seem to be calibrated for my 16 inch carbine. From 100 to 400 yards the reticle is dead on. After that, you need some Kentucky windage.

The wrench in the machinery comes with using the scope on a 20 inch rifle where the reticle appears to be dead on for 100 through 600 yards. Note that the reticle goes up to 800 yards but I did not have an opportunity to shoot beyond 600 yards. So is the reticle only good for rifles with a 20 inch barrel?

OBSERVATIONS:
Coming from a non combat point of view but rather a 3-gun competition angle... I'd like to the range finding tools to be redesigned or standard IPSC targets or something of the like. The current range finding tools found etched in the scope is for a man sized target.

You've all seen them on TV, the movies, videos games, and on YouTube. But not many people have actually seen or fired one in person. You asked for it, so here it is.

This quick video goes over the basics of the Desert Eagle 50 Action Express (AE) XIX and I toss in a bonus with the Freedom Arms model 555 cowboy revolver. These guns are big, heavy and not really practical when it comes to usefulness and economy of shooting. Plus they recoil like a mother! But with a descent grip they can be handled quite well.

Be sure and see my video(s) on reloading the 50AE for these guns:

The Colt 1911-22 pistols have many interchangeable parts with standard 45 ACP pistols. However, the magwell is not one of them. The factory 22lr magazine has a wider basepad than your typical 45ACP single stack mag and therefore all after market magwells designed for 1911's will not fit the Colt 1911-22 pistol made by Walther / Umarex. Our magwell is designed specifically for the Colt 1911 22LR pistols so that factory magazines and magazines equipped with NicTaylor00 / Shockbottle basepads and magazine upgrades will fit in the gun.

Our magwell comes with an aluminum main spring housing, main spring housing pin retainer, and main spring cap retainer pin. The magwell and main spring housing are constructed of anodized aluminum and machined to close tolerances for a clean fit. Some fitting may be required.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove factory main spring housing.

2. Push out roll pin used to retain the factory main spring in the factory main spring housing.

3. Retain the main spring and the main spring cap.

4. Insert the included main spring housing pin, the the main spring and finally the factory main spring housing spring cap into the included light weight aluminum main spring housing.

5. Compress all parts listed in step 4, and while compressed insert the main spring cap retainer pin into the main spring housing.

6. With the hammer down, Insert the assembled main spring housing into the pistol.

7. Insert the factory main spring housing pin into the frame to secure the main spring housing.

8. Verify that the grip safety functions properly with the new main spring housing.

9. Screw into place the magwell with the included 8-32 screw using a 5/64" hex wrench. Tighten at approximately 15 inch-lbs

This easy to install screw assembly replaces the factory powder adjustment screw. The Dillon Factory screw requires a wrench when adjusting the amount of powder to dispense in your powder thrower. The knurled knob is labeled with graduations for orientation and easily allows the user to hand adjust the powder dispenser without the need for tools. Works on Dillon1050, 650, 550, SDB and 900 presses. Dillon Powder Bar is shown only for reference and is not included.

One of the easiest and least expensive ways to reduce the weight of the trigger on your AR15 rifle is to replace the stock hammer spring with a Reduced Power Spring. All you need is a punch or hex wrench small enough in diameter to push out the hammer pin located in your AR15 lower. Once you push out the hammer pin, the hammer and spring can be removed from the lower. Take note of the orientation of the spring as it sits on the hammer so that you can install the new spring in the same position.

Simply pull the spring off the hammer by grabbing one of the coils and pull. Install the Reduced Power Spring onto the hammer and reinsert the hammer/spring into the lower while pushing the hammer pin back into place through the lower. Be careful not to force the pin as you attempt to push it through the lower. Remember the lower is aluminum and the pin is steel, so forcibly hitting the pin or pushing harshly it may cause damage to your lower if all is not lined up perfectly.

In our testing we were able to reduce the trigger pull weight by 3 pounds. Our stock trigger was measuring 7 pounds with the mil-spec hammer spring found in all Lower Parts Kits (LPK). Once we installed the Reduced Power Spring, our same trigger measured 4 pounds of pull. This is a considerable amount of reduction for such a low price. Most match triggers run well over $100. Granted, this spring does nothing to reduce the creep or "grittiness" of your stock trigger like the drop-in match triggers do, but you can come close with the additional Adjustment Grip Screw Kit. For those not wanting to spend alot of money on an expensive trigger for their rifle or carbine, the Adjustment Screw and Reduced Power Hammer Spring Kit is the way to go.

Application: The Reduced Power Hammer Spring is intended for competition and recreational use only and should not be installed in any rifle used for defense or duty applications. By reducing the spring tension, the introduction of light strikes or failures to fire due to the lack of primer detonation may occur in ammunition with hard primers.

Full Auto 80% AR Lower: http://nictaylor00.blogspot.com/2014/11/optimus-defense-80-billet-lower.html

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. The internal set screw comes with thread locker pre-applied but for best results remove the internal screw and apply additional thread locker and re install the set screw inside the
large screw. Make sure to screw down the internal screw all the way in so that the tip just protrudes.
2. Remove the factory grip screw and lock washer from the grip of your rifle. Mind the spring and detent for the safety as they may bounce out if you remove the grip completely.
3. With the hammer cocked and the gun on safe, insert the Trigger Adjustment Screw into the grip and tighten the large screw with a 3/16” hex wrench until he pistol grip is secure.
