So after that first failed attempt on the 11th of July, I continued on foot to the end of the run, while Tom continued on the river. Turned out the river speed was about walking speed that day for the greater portion of the run. So after he finished, we went home, then I popped back out to Bi Mart to get a replacement float, because I was not going to be denied a full trip on our first river run of the season.

Tom insisted on wearing the camera this time, since he spins less and he wanted me to get some screen time for family and friends as well. I honestly do not know why the camera shut off so early though. Perhaps he bumped it while making some adjustments, and accidentally powered it down. These trips do get better though. Next one, we were able to ditch the plastic baggie and use the water proof case that came with the camera, after modifying it so the external mic could be used with the case.

Plus, Tom has his own camera now, so we can both get these trips from our own perspectives.

So here is our first toobing of the season we did on the Powder River going through town here back on 2020-07-11.

For me, the run was terminated about 20 minutes in, after a tree ambush knocked the camera on my hat into pointing in a useless direction. The tree ambush also punctured my float tube, and it was pretty much done before we got to the Park.

We did do a second run after I bought a new float tube; though my partner here ran the camera for that one. It will get posted soon.

The blurry spot in the frame is because the camera was actually in a tiny zipper bag, as until we modified the waterproof case, that was the only way to safely do this recording without risking water damage to the camera. Fortunately, that was fixed by our second run (and I do not mean the run we did the same day after this one here.)

Santana, one of the neighbor girls, enjoying the railing of my porch on a hot Summer afternoon.

This Fuji FinePix S10000 10MP digital camera is showing how decently it records video and sound.

Animatronic dancing gopher from Caddyshack. He is from Gemmy, dated 2000. His hips can fairly easily get put out of place, but are easy enough to put back in place.

And now a couple hours later, before I go sit out there for Beer:30, the girls get their payoff.

This way, they should not be telling me all about it while I am trying to relax out there.

Just a quick little video of the neighbor girls camping my front door expectantly.
