The Open Door Baptist

Here I talk about the doctrine of original sin, the role of the law in the sin of idividuals, and how it all relates to Infant mortality.

------------------------------------------
Footnotes:
1: It should be noted that the fact that infants who die are rescued by Christ and brought into the presence of the Father does not excuse the murder of children. It is not the place of any man to take the life of a child. That is God's prerogative. [Exodus 20:13; Genesis 9:5-6]

For liturgical consistency, and out of personal conviction, all scripture reading is from the King James Version (KJV). If you find a problem with anything in my sermons, don't be shy about letting me know. I'd rather be true to the faithful word of God than have a complete archive.

In this first addition to the show, we talk briefly about the ideas of baptism in the Baptist, and Presbyterian traditions. This is a surface-level critique of Reformed Paedobaptism, and should be used as a starting point for further study.

One thing I failed to mention is that since baptism is a priestly ordination rite, only those who are capable of formally serving as priests in the Church are proper candidates for baptism. This would also exclude infants from baptism.

An Introduction to the Coherence Based Genealogical Method of text criticism. Hopefully, this can be of help to someone. If you have trouble following along then leave a comment, and I'll try to help out. Please note that all numerical figures given are highly exaggerated to help with comprehension, and the vast majority of real-world applications will involve much more subtle data sets. Also, note that the criticisms of the method found in this video are not original to me. I am simply trying to faithfully report on some of the kinds of objections that have been raised against the method.

If you find any errors in my presentation of the CBGM please leave a comment so I can correct it. Correction notes are in the 'footnotes' section and at the end of the description.

-----------Footnotes--------------

('*' Indicates where a footnote should have appeared in the video but was left out by mistake.)

(3:00) In the literature, on the subject of contamination, a distinction is usually made between so-called "block mixture," which involves large uninterrupted sections of contamination, and "point contamination," where a scribe introduced readings from another text at his own discretion. I broadly mention these two phenomena, though not by name, in the video.
(3:50) A text from The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan, The Author's Apology for his Book. This example has a Pre-Genealogical Coherence of 66.6%.

Note: In citing "Thou Shalt Keep Them" I misread that the antecedent is masculine singular when it is, in fact, masculine plural. This is not a deficiency of the argument made in the book, but just a slip of the tongue on my part.
