Some more prospecting at the creek in central victoria from my previous video, but instead of crevicing I dug a big hole in search of the chunky gold. I had a fair crack at it before my pump had other ideas. I then did a little more detecting with the SDC2300, again with no luck. But ended up with some nice gold from the creek so prettt happy nevertheless. See the weigh up at the end of the video.

Made it out to yet another new spot in central Victoria for some prospecting and camping. I had the use of a SDC2300 which was nice, and I also hit some crevices in the creek. I finished my time with some gold, and some more good memories. Enjoy!

Back to Reedy Creek again for a few days of prospecting and camping. Sluicing and crevicing is what I focused on during this trip, with some semi decent results from some crevices. Some cold nights and mornings but well worth it nonetheless. I had a fun few days, and hopefully you get some fun out of this video.

Finally was able to return to this spot retrieve my pumps. I spent a few productive hours digging for some decent results in the end. It started of a it slow with not much gold showing itself, but I finished off strong.

A couple of days spent camping and prospecting at Reedy Creek (Eldorado end) in North East Victoria. There was a bit of rain recently and so the river was quite high which prevented me from finding any good gold. But I did get something to show for my efforts when all was said and done. Used the Angus MacKirk Grubbstake sluice.

and tested a small stream sluice box. It only cost me $19 AUD (about $14.50 USD) in materials (ABS plastic) and few days printing time (both cost and time could be minimised if I can manage to stop the warping problem). Its lightweight, tough enough, and despite the less than ideal conditions and truncated test it proved it can can catch very fine gold. All things considered Im willing to tentatively call it a success at this point...pending further tests when the weather improves. So far I'd say that this sluice would be a great cost effective addition to any budding prospectors arsenal.

This is an old video I shot about six months ago but never got around to uploading. Since its been a while since my last uplaod I figured now was as good a time as any. The location is in the Yarra Valley. It was a nice day spent prospecting a pleasant little creek and I got a little bit of gold in the pan at the end of the day so it was a total success.

I returned to the spot I found in my last video in central victoria for a bit more prospecting, and also camped the night. It showed potential last time, and this time I proved that potential (imo) including finding a nice little nugget.
Somehow messed up the captions towards the end of the videos and they're all showing about 6 seconds too early :( But since I didn't want to upload it again I thought you can just manage as is :)

Went prospecting for a new spot today. Came up empty handed at the first creek, but struck gold at the second making the day a success. I will return soon to run some proper gear and I think Ill do quite well.

Headed out again today for a short couple of hours sluicing in order to get some cons to test out my new miller table with. Twas very wet and cold...ugh.

It was a fine day, not to hot, and I hadn't been out for a while so I took the chance and headed out for the day. I spent a few hours in the general vicinity of Ballarat/Daylesford sort of area panning, sluicing and crevicing. After a not so great start and a few pans that didnt pan out I got a nice little picker (which is always nice...but especially after a bad start). But was forced to return home early as one of my bulge pumps busted up. Oh well, I'll just have to get that remaining gold next time.

This is my return to this spot in Gippsland. It was a good day out indeed. I got some nice colour plus a small picker or two.
I did end up weighing what I got during the day...curiosity got the better of me. And it was...
...about .36g...so just over a third of a gram. Not bad at all.

A return to the spot where I snagged my first picker...with some decent results...I got some gold. This has to be one of my favorite places to go prospecting. Made a diy sucker but that broke pretty early on. Sigh. So just worked the crevices by hand for the day. The water level was a up a little, not enough for the sluice though.
