This is part 3 of my series unraveling what's behind the CFTC and why they are unable to be real regulators in the markets.
We interviewed a former Deputy Director of the #CFTC who was responsible for surveillance activities (from 2011-2020) on the market with respect to potential manipulated trades. We also break down his main stage presentation at #Silver Symposium.
Perhaps most importantly, we provide research by a Florida law professor, who has done prolific amounts of published research on commodity and other US markets, that shows commodity market manipulation has been going on for as long as the markets have been around. Importantly, his 1991 paper highlights the exact problems we still see today with respect to the #manipulation of those markets.
In this final take, I give recommendations and suggestions on how to solve the problem of the manipulation of #commodity #markets. Our recommendations take into account the problems experienced not only recently, but dating back over 100 years when many of these markets begin to take the current shape they have now.
