In the 2018 Farm Bill signed by President Trump, was a section pertaining to the Legalization of Hemp and all its byproducts. Products like CBD became widely available as a result. The bill contained language that protected everything in Cannabis except 'Delta-9 THC', which is still regulated as a drug. This made the widely unknown 'Delta-8 THC' 100% Legal, EVERYWHERE in America. Unless the Farm Bill was amended to specifically outlaw it, the FDA & Law Enforcement was powerless to do anything about it.
What is Delta-8 THC? How come it's legal when it gets users intoxicated just like Delta-9 THC products? Is Delta-8 really more dangerous than Delta-9? Will it become regulated sometime in the future?
The high from Delta-8 THC, while similar in effects to Delta-9 THC, is considered less intoxicating, more relaxing and less energetic. Marijuana users liken Delta-8 to Diet Coke to Delta-9's Coke Classic. Regular potheads tend to avoid it, and people in States with strict marijuana laws were more likely to consume it to avoid legal implications.
