Stars naturally create the elements for life. On earth, life exists under extreme conditions. How many other ways are there for life to exist? How vast is the array?
Katherine Blundell gives an intriguing talk about life in the universe that everyone should hear, because she speaks of our power to reason that we need to have interaction with other life forms so we can see how they think and learn from them. Our rulers shoot down alien craft in order to steal their technology. This isn't very friendly and word gets out that we are hostile. When Planet X passes and we need to airlift 6.24 billion people, nobody is there to help us. They want us dead and they want the universe rid of our kind. Too hostile to save or help! The rulers burn coal to sell us electricity and then blame us for driving cars that burn gasoline. Who is the biggest polluter? They are! Yes, the earth is heating up, but so are all planets in our solar system and all the moons, as well. The cause could be the passage of Planet X, you know? Whatever the cause of the earth heating up, it has to be external and Planet X is one possibility that should be considered.
We have now 200 billion galaxies to explore and in some of them, one trillion stars to search for life. I think we are going to find life forms we never dreamed of. If the universe has galaxies in the darkest regions of our night sky in all directions, it seems the universe is infinite. Is life also infinite? Every imaginable direct that life could have taken, was taken somewhere. It is there, waiting for us to discover it to prove that it occurred and as we do, they will look at us and say the same. We never imagined that life like yours could happen, but here you are. Will some life forms be a billion years older than our own?
If we discover that there are 200 billion more galaxies, behind every one we visit, then what? When we finally get to the last one, what will they say to us? What took you so long? We can only say, 'There were many before you! The universe is infinite!'
