With news that some UK MEPs are urging all the MEPs in the EU Parliament to back an extension of the Article 50 timescale, you have to ask, how deep is this anti-democracy in the UK establishment?

It's emerged that SNP MEP Alyn Smyth, has sent an E-Mail to all EU Parliament MEPs asking for their backing in extending the Article 50 process.
In response the UKIP leader Gerard Batten said that those who signed it had:
"revealed themselves for what they are. They are a bunch of snivelling quislings who are desperate to keep their seats on the EU Parliamentary gravy train."
And the former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage MEP, said this shows "there is a palpable level of collusion between the British political class and the EU to stop Brexit."
Smyth's email contained a plea signed by 13 other UK MEPs, for support to keep the UK in 'our EU family'.
And it transpires that German MEP, Hans-Olaf Henkel, replied:
"I support everything which would avoid a Brexit, including anything which could delay it."
And the words 'our initiative' should give the game away of course.
Farage went on to denounce the actions of the UK MEPs involved, saying in the Telegraph that they showed utter contempt for their own people in signing such a letter and were conspiring with the Germans to ensure the UK cannot become competitive post-Brexit.
And Gerard Batten also said that they were utterly contemptible.
And that was exactly what the whole EU system was set up to do of course - to make those that work in it 'go native' and end up living, breathing and thinking the EU way and forget their own pesky nation states.
