Here is the fifth track of a bootleg recording of a Pink Floyd concert. It's a two disc recording called From Oblivion. This track is called Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. This is a soundboard recording from October 17, 1971. This is before Dark Side of the Moon, so it does not include any of their more well known. At the time, they would do long jam sessions for each track during their live sets. Their pre Dark Side bootlegs are worth your time to look into. there are a lot of great ones.
Line up:
David Gilmour - Guitar and Vocals
Roger Waters - Bass and vocals
Richard Wright - Keyboards
Nick Mason - Drums
Lyrics:
Little by little the night turns around
Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn
Lotus's lean on each other in yearning
Over the hills a swallow is resting
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
Over the mountain watching the watcher
Breaking the darkness, waking the grapevine
Knowledge of love is knowledge of shadow
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun
Witness the man who waves at the wall
Making the shape of his question to Heaven
Whether the sun will fall in the evening
Will he remember the lesson of giving?
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun
