That's a really good question we get all the time. I'm Josh with dream buddy clinic and we're going to get to it. So stem cells are not like a cortisone shot. When you get a cortisone shot, that's just mainly for pain relief, inflammation reduction. And. If you're lucky, you're going to get up to three, maybe six months of pain relief. Some people are even lucky if they get a week, if any pain relief from it.
Mesenchymal stem cells are different. They are going to help you heal like you did when you were a little kid. They're going to get in there and start removing scar tissue which is preventing your body from healing. That's usually the main problem in these, is that that scar tissue builds up. It's like having a bad foundation you just can't build on. So we get rid of that. Then they start guiding the cellular regeneration where they can regenerate cartilage, ligaments, tendon, bone, muscle, pretty much any issue that you have there. And the best part is it's like having a new knee. So until you injure it again, or wear that tissue out again, It's going to last.
I personally had a torn ACL and multiple meniscus tears. That was over four years ago and I am completely pain free, no issues. I was just in the gym the other day, doing squats, leg day and I'm fine. I go for jogs on the beach. I ride my bicycle all the time, no issue. So until I wear those tissues out again or get injured or something else, I'm not going to need another treatment.
