Marv Johnson released several singles on the Motown subsidiary Gordy label in the mid to late sixties with little chart success. This song was released in the UK on the Tamla Motown label in early 1969 and was his biggest hit for almost a decade, climbing to #10 on the UK pop charts in early 1969. The song was included on the "Motown Chartbusters Vol. 3" album released in the UK in November of 1969.
