A heroic driver stopped a coach safely to rescue the lives of 16 passengers after being hit by a flying wheel hub.

The dash-cam clip, filmed in Yichang City in central Hubei Province on July 9, shows a wheel hub lying in the middle of the road being run over by a car, causing it to smash directly through the windscreen and striking the driver violently.

However, he puts his hands back on the steering wheel and guides the bus safely to the side of the road before slumping over.

According to reports, the driver's head could not stop bleeding when he tried to save 16 passengers' lives by stopping the vehicle safely.

No passengers were injured and the driver was treated in hospital.
