Context: Each year on May 9, the old Soviet Republics celebrate the capitulation of the German Reich. On that day, Ukraine honors the heroic feat of the Ukrainian veterans. This celebration comes with the display of Soviet attributes such as Red Communist flags, which has attracted increasing resistance from Ukraine nationalists. Reports go back to 2011.
