Throughout history supernatural beings were the source of fear among the commonfolk, dating back to ancient times and all across the world. Demons, ghosts, goblins, vampires and werewolves all have legendary status, the most evil of things which could either steal souls, harvest energy or destroy life using the most violent and despicable methods.
The real darkness however comes into the world when the veil is thin during the late hours, when spirits awaken, to wreak havoc on those in the land of the living.
The Witching Hour is the darkest time of night.
In the ancient folklore, The Witching Hour is the entire period from midnight to 4:00am. All historical church records list that most occurrences of supernatural activity happen at this time, reaching a peak between the hours of 3:00 to 4:00am
Yet of all the creatures the common people feared, Witches were feared the most.
Able to hide in plain sight with no distinct recognizable features the church saw them as their biggest threat, especially during the Devils Hour.
