In this video I demonstrate the preparation of a much better quality red that can be carried out in about half an hour instead of two days. Potassium uranate, uranyl nitrate, potassium hydroxide, and hydrogen sulfide gas were needed to carry out the synthesis. The prep of all of the compounds needed for this method has been demonstrated in previous videos on this channel. The potassium uranate was made by fusion of uranium trioxide with potassium chloride and potassium nitrate (the "Improved Prep of Potassium Uranate").
