Will The Nations Be "Sprinkled" or "Astounded" by the Messiah (Isaiah 52:15)
Will The Nations Be "Sprinkled" or "Astounded" by the Messiah (Isaiah 52:15)

The Messiah Will Sprinkle the Nation's, Really?
Isaiah 52:15 has been translated by some as, "the Nations will be "sprinkled" by the Servant", but then the following verses go on to say that, "Kings will go on to shut their mouths on account of him".
This is most disconcerting, confusing and very disjointed to say the least. But, does the text really state this? Why would Kings shut their mouths on account of being "sprinkled"? What do the Scriptures really tell us?
Nazáh: To Startle, Astound
Nazáh has been defined as to “startle” (such as an animal might be startled when come upon by surprise). Numerous translators have rendered nazáh according to this significance and fashion.
In view of the earlier mention of the exaltation of the Messianic servant (verse 13), the people of the nations could be represented as being "startled" by the "transformation of the humiliated servant" to a highly exalted personage.

The Nations Will "Marvel" and "Wonder" On Account of the Servant
This appears to be the real meaning behind the rendering, indicates that “many nations” or "people of many nations" wil “marvel”, "wonder" or be "astonished" by him, by being astounded at what had taken place respecting the servant, and what he is doing for the people to be astounded by him, on account of what he (the Servant) is teaching and speaking to them about in his Kingdom which he is ruling from Sea to Sea (Zechariah 9:10)
Kings Will Shut Their Mouths On Account of Him
Thus shall many nations wonder at him; and Kings shall keep their mouths shut: for they to whom no report was brought concerning him, shall see; and they who have not heard, shall consider.
It seems, that the Nations are "not going to be sprinkled" afterall, but rather as the text says, they are going to be “astonished”, or be in "wonder” or in "awe" of him (the Servant).
