The Thief's Priestess
Another cinematic piano piece written, performed, and composed by Jilaine Wheatcroft. Ashley Mckenzie of Tab Graphics is the artist responsible for assembling the concept art. The video itself was edited and animated by Alex Hunt, and I the author of The Ancestral Odyssey (TAO) series, D.W.Gill, took the lead.
Similar to the last video, this track is called The Thief’s Priestess. It’s just a snapshot of a scene that has been lifted directly from Episode One: The Utopian Dream, published back in April of 2016. It’s an important, pivotal scene with so much to say, too much in fact that I wrote about it in detail in article 103 called, One for Another, which can be found in the articles section on my Official Website, links are listed below. So, if you’d like to learn more about the characters, if you’d like to know more about what efforts were made to make this video and the context that surrounds it, please do us a solid and give the article a read through, it would be greatly appreciated. To summarise however, musician Jilaine has once again excelled, she’s beautifully captured the myriad of emotions that are exhibited in the literal source material, she adds emotional weight and a layer of heartfelt notes that perfectly articulates the events that unfold. I could not be more grateful for Jilaine’s contributions, I’m so lucky to have had her input, to learn about her ideas and to hear them playout. Ashley really came through once more; She turned a simple sketch of mine and some written words into what you see, she was able to portray a sense of scale, a sense of relativism and somehow was able to make the night sky and the ripples on the water look real. And last, but by no means least, Alex Hunt took my slides and not only assembled them in a familiar format, but applied his own artistic touches that connects this video with the others, and makes it come alive.
Thank you Jilaine, for writing and producing another brilliant piece of music, a link to her Soundcloud is below. Thank you, Ashley, for working ever so hard on this concept, I realise it is a challenge and is not always straight forward, but I look forward to what we tackle next. And thank you Alex once again for the video edit and the animation effects, as always, very well done, you’re a wizard, keep up the fantastic work.
