War in the Gulf: Episode 1: Desert Storm: The Air Assault
This is episode 1 of a rare documentary series I have on a massive 8 disc DVD box set about the Iraq War!
(I was going to upload this to YouTube but apparently some random Korean company somehow holds the copyright to this random VHS only documentary series that was made in the west somehow, so my upload got blocked world wide)
If you would like to download this series here is my archive page for it: https://archive.org/details/War-in-the-Gulf-DVD
Disclaimer: This documentary series almost entirely focuses on the actual weapons, technology and strategy used in the Gulf War and some that were used shortly after, it has a strong Coalition bias and does not cover any of the politics surrounding the war.
Description from the archive page:
This is a seemingly rare documentary that is borderline impossible to find any information about online and the 8 disc DVD set that I have appears to be a bootleg, from what I understand the original release of these documentary videos were made and put onto VHS by a company called "Video Ordnance Inc." from 1991-1996 with a final extra video called "Global Strike: Iraq" being released in 2000.
The release I have of these documentaries is a big 8 disc DVD box set that as said before seems to be a bootleg, it was made by a company called "Musicbank" and released in 2005. The reason that I think that this DVD set is a bootleg is because all of the footage on it is just VHS footage, the disc is region free and it has an age rating of "E" where under the label it says "This videogram is exempt from BBFC classification.", the last part might not seem so strange but it also mentions the BBFC exemption in the American NTSC release of the DVD set which is really strange considering it wouldn't apply to stuff released in the states and I am also sure "videogram" is a typo of "video program". (could be wrong about all this but I don't think I am lol)
Either way what I am trying to say is that this documentary series seems to be pretty rare with the only other copies online of the Video Ordnance Inc. release being listings for the old VHS release or DVD's for the later Musicbank release but often times with no case for some reason, there were a few people who uploaded the first two parts of the documentary on to YouTube but that was it. Thought I may as well rip this release while I have the chance before this becomes lost media.
I hope you all find this interesting... Enjoy!
