Part 2 of 2. Topics mentioned again from the prior two seminars discussing the devastation in Chile. The metro system will be emphasized, lastest marches, volunteer efforts to clean and protect, the party attitude of the communists, and some accounting of the destruction. As always, we will focus on Plan Bs and how expats here can help make a difference.
The 20 related deaths are broken down. The Santiago metro destruction in 118 of the 136 stops will be detailed, including the 41 burned down (7 severely). Damage to the Valpo metro, too. The at least 1,100 businesses looted or destroyed is covered, hoteles, skyscrapers, plus the 40,000 micro businesses negatively affected. Details of losses to Cencosud, Wal-Mart, Unimarc, Sodimar chains are noted, not to mention high schools and government buildings. 4,316 arrests, 1,574 injured, 157 eye injuries, 179 arraignments. Massive grafitti and broken windows.
Much talk, too, about what libertarians can do who choose to stay and fight for freedom in Chile. www.partidoindependencia.cl and www.libertar.cl.
