There are many people who chose to blow the whistle on corruption in the workplace, and suffered because of it.
Some people choose to pick up the pieces of their life and move on.
Some stew in bitterness but do nothing.
And some start a political party, run for election, and use their legally mandated 20 minutes of uncensored air-time to embarrass their former employers on national television, on their dime.
This is the story of one such man. In early July 2019, Tachibana Takashi sat in front of a camera and spoke to the Japanese voters before the upcoming House of Councillors election. As he was a political candidate, speaking for a political party, the NHK was forbidden by law from altering or omitting any part of his broadcast due to their mandated political neutrality. Thus began the most savage troll ever recorded in modern Japanese politics.
His words were beyond the reach of English-language viewers...until now. This broadcast has been translated as faithfully as possible, and uploaded in its entirety. Nothing has been edited out or changed from the original broadcast.
