1932- Pre-Hays Code film, Over the Counter
I guess I can see sort of what lead up to the censorship of the Motion Pictures Production Code which began to be enforced in 1934. This film has alot of pretty suggestive themes. Besides the general skimpy outfits and sexualized dancing, there are allusions to prostitution, allusions to group sex (The scene where the girl is in bed, and guys pop up all around her). There is the scene where a woman is selling babies. There are the children dancing, which could be considered suggestive, considering the theme of the rest of the film.
Nevertheless, this short film is a gem. The music is good, and the colorful cinematography is stunning. This is a classic, yet almost unseen piece of movie history. I have tons of these. If I had more channels, I'd make one dedicated just to this theme. Anyways, if anyone likes these, let me know and I can upload more. So far, there has not seemed to be much of a demand for these on this platform. I wonder what other platform might be a good place to upload these.
