the earls - remember then - stereo remix
Edit for headphones, June 2021. Another early sixties song. It's early sixties time in here! I like this one for its funny 'remember' riff.
In late 1962 and early 1963 the song spent nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 24, while reaching No. 29 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. "The Earls", sometimes credited as "Larry Chance and The Earls", were an American popular music recording group from the 1960s, which was formed in The Bronx, New York, United States. As the oldies revival scene started a strong run in the early 1970s and 1980s The Earls became one of the most requested groups in the doo-wop genre. They are still performing and remain on the oldies circuit.
The source of this edit is the song on cd three of the box set "Amazing Early 60s Box: 88 Hard-To-Find Hits" (Complete 60s – 12201).

summer's over, our love is over
to lose that love was such a sin
remember then, then, then, then, then
remember, re-mem-mem
mem-mem-mem-mem-ber
our love is in the past
(patta past)
oh, has it gone so fast
(patta past)
why couldn't our love last
(can't last)

shoo wop-doo bop bop, ooh
I'm broken hearted now
since we have parted now
my mind wanders now and then
remember then, then, then, then, then
