"UJA was honoured to host Irwin Cotler, renowned Canadian human rights lawyer and former Justice Minister, at the announcement of the government’s decision to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism as part of its anti-racism strategy.

Cotler said the IHRA definition, which clarifies the difference between legitimate criticism of Israel and antisemitic speech, should be “mainstreamed” into all levels of government, national and foreign policy, the justice system, universities and international forums like the United Nations. UJA continues to work with our advocacy agent, CIJA, to advance the critical fight against a rising tide of antisemitism."
