A brahmana is a Vedic priest, scholar and teacher - a living guardian of Vedic culture. As Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya explains in this astoundingly deep and informative talk, a real brahmana is to be known by his or her inherent qualities of goodness, wisdom, cleanliness, discipline, natural spirituality, peacefulness, knowledge of the Vedic scriptures, humility, and absolute adherence to Dharma. More, a real brahmana is one who knows Brahman - God. Thus, brahmana initiation is open to any man or woman who knows and is dedicated to Brahman - regardless of their ethnicity, language, nationality, or any other material factor. There is no such thing anywhere in the Vedic scriptures as a "caste" brahmana. One is not guaranteed to be a brahmana merely because one's parents were brahmanas. One must earn the status and title of brahmana!
