Here is the first track of the In Memorium demo by the UK based doom metal band Cathedral. The song is called Mourning of a New Day. Cahtedral started in Coventry, England in 1989 by Lee Dorian after he left Napalm Death and released this demo the following year in 1990. They released a second demo in 1991 and were picked up by Earache, the same company that signed Napalm Death. They recorded and released their debut album that same year. The band would go on to have a series of well received releases until they broke up in 2013 after releasing their excellent final album The Last Spire.

Lyrics:
A new day - in static motion I drift
The atmosphere sinks into thegreayness of my soul
Slow apathy. Fermenting my senses
The nothingness. The formless void that is me
Mourning is the same way
The Drowning of a new day
The Surreal - the only truth I caress
Emptiness. My only fulfilment
My feeling - internal voidance
nowhere, is where I've progressed
Mourning is the same way
The Drowning of a new day
