On May 10, 2018, a tragic incident occurred in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India, involving a 10-month-old girl who fell to her death from an escalator. This accident happened when the mother, carrying the baby, lost her balance while posing for a selfie on the escalator at the request of her husband. The baby slipped from her arms, struck the railing of the escalator, and fell three stories down, resulting in instant death. The family had visited a shopping mall after a medical check-up for the child.
The event was captured on CCTV, which showed the couple initially taking a selfie in a corridor near the escalator. They are then seen on the escalator when the accident occurred. Eyewitness accounts state that the husband requested a selfie with his wife, leading to the mother losing balance and dropping their daughter.
