Yami Fuku Natsu - Teito Monogatari Futatabi (闇吹く夏 - 帝都物語ふたたび,Darkness Blowing Summer - Tales of the Imperial Capitol, 2nd time) is an adventure game developed by H.a.n.d. and published by B-Factory. It was only released in Japan.
Teito Monogatari is a series of novels by Japanese author Hiroshi Aramata. It has spin-off series called Sim-Feng Shui. Yami Fuku Natsu is actually based on the spin-off series.
The story begins with Tokyo being hit by storm and heavy rainfall, which does various damage. More important, someone removes stones important for some kind of energy flow, which causes spiritual disturbances. A young man called Hiroshi gets accidentally pulled into this when he almost crashes into Feng Shui master Tatsuto Kuroda. Kuroda looses a disk which Hiroshi finds and tries out at home on his computer. The disk contains a mysterious program called Sim-Feng Shui. However, the start of the program somehow wakes up a strange being, and Hiroshi gets pulled into some kind of parallel, spiritual version of reality where he gets attacked by a seemingly empty Samurai armour. Hiroshi later wakes up and the whole thing seems like a dream, but nevertheless strange things happen around him and more and more people ask him to investigate.
While the game is reminiscent of Resident Evil, as it features static, pre-rendered backgrounds from multiple angles with characters rendered in real-time 3D, and tank controls, it is an adventure game foremost. There are occasional action sequences where you get transferred into the spirit world and need to avoid enemies while searching for the exit. However, they are not so prominent and long that I would call Yami Fuku Natsu an action-adventure. During the action sequences, you have a health bar which is depleted when you take hits or when you run, but it will also fill up again if stand still.
