Final Fantasy VII Remake - Chapter 3: Home Sweet Slum, part 1
Avalanche make it back to their home base. Cloud starts getting a feel for the lay of the land. Chapter 3 is a long one because it's a large hub area with lots to do and more than a hundred NPCs―each with plenty to say. When events happen, the residents tend to have new things to say.
This is a Let's Play of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Normal difficulty with no commentary. The goal is to find hidden content, important details in the environmental storytelling, and interesting material related to fan theories. Any interesting material found will be grouped into smaller Discoveries and Extras videos. Hopefully by the end we will better understand the story, lore, and world building.
This playthrough will be baseline reference material for a future commentated Hard playthrough. The Hard playthrough will focus on story, lore, game design, fan theories, and whether or not Remake part 2 is going to be worth the wait after certain plot twists. You know which ones.
I am a longtime fan, data miner, and modder of the original game FF7 Remake is based on. I have previously beaten FF7 Remake and platinum'd it. The playstyle here is semi-casual, but my intent is to make the game look good, be efficient, and not miss anything. Oh, and not to wipe or ability spam.
The music is mixed a bit higher than defaults, because (a) that's how it was in original FF7, (b) it's hard to hear otherwise. It doesn't drown out the voices any more than the normal mix.
The playthrough is on a PS4 Pro with an SSD.
