"The higher nature in man always seeks for something which transcends itself and yet is its deepest truth; which claims all its sacrifice, yet makes this sacrifice its own recompense. This is man's dharma, man's religion, and man's self is the vessel which is to carry this sacrifice to the altar."
― Rabindranath Tagore
"For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together." ― Matthew 24:27, 28
Let us explain about the Hypostasis of the Heavenly Man who is the Bodhisattva, and the Earthly Man which is in Sanskrit or in Buddhism is the Bodhichitta from the Christian, from the Gospel's point of view.
Remember that this series of lectures are related with Christianity and Buddhism, and when we enter into the topic of Christianity, we have to go to the Tree of Life (Kabbalah), the very root of the Gospels, in order to comprehend the four Gospels in the Bible, and any of those Gospels that are called apocryphal (which are now very popular).
To begin, Hypostasis, Gnostically speaking, is the capacity to produce a union of the Soma Psuchikon (Soma is "body" in Greek, and Psuchikon means "the image-soul" of the psychological work that we are performing) with the Soma Pneumatikon. Again here Soma is "body," pneuma in Greek means "spirit," and ikon is "image."
This is precisely what the Bodhisattva who enters into the Direct Path is trying to achieve: the union of the Soma Psuchikon with the Soma Pneumatikon. This is explained by the Apostle Paul (who was and is the Master Hilarion); he explains in synthesis in Corinthians 15 about this mystery, which is an alchemical and kabbalistic transformation that the initiate has to perform in him or herself.
