Not only is this a call for Monica Rambeau to finally have her turn as Captain Marvel on the big screen, the petition is for the actress and the character to be gay. There is no middle ground here, so a black straight female portraying a gay character is out of the question. At first, it seemed Skip Valentine's petition would die in the backwaters of the Internet, but recently it has been gaining steam and is less than 500 signatures short of the 15,000 goal. Will the true LGBTQ+ supporters have their way or will Hollywood ignore them once again?
