He continues to go through his Uncle's notes and finds something about an elixir. The elixir of life and death, whoever drinks from it shall either gain eternal life or sudden death. James manages to recreate the elixir, but now what? How does he know whether or not it'll kill him or make him immortal? Will it work or will it backfire? Is there an indication or something? He decides to test it out on his dog. He gives a drop for his dog to drink and the dog becomes immortal. Thinking there's nothing to worry about, James drinks the elixir. Bottoms up. He dies.
